Lincoln punched its ticket to the Class AA championship Saturday with a win against Pierre.
The No. 4 Patriots topped No. 8 Pierre 2-0 at Yankton Trail Park, sending the Knights to Saturday’s title game in Mitchell against O’Gorman.
Madison Landon scored a goal for Lincoln, while Madeline Kelly and Kennedi Keller each had an assist. Brooke Forsman also scored a goal for the Patriots. Maggie Smither preserved the shutout with six saves.
For Pierre, Kayla Rounds made five saves, and Mackenzie Rath had four saves.
The championship game between O’Gorman and Lincoln is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex.
OGORMAN 2, WASHINGTON 1 at McEneaney Field – No. 3 O’Gorman advanced to the state championship with goals by Lauren Weber and Alyssa Weidler. Weidler’s goal was assisted by Izzy Hedge. Olivia Surrell made 10 saves. For No. 7 Washington, Morgan Moe scored a goal.
ROOSEVELT 6, RAPID CITY STEVENS 1 at Yankton Trail Park – Kolby Scott helped top-ranked Roosevelt advance to the state championship game with four goals. Scott has eight goals in two games this postseason. Ibraham Diomande and Jose Arellano also scored a goal each for Roosevelt. The Rough Riders will take on Lincoln in the Class AA championship game Saturday.
LINCOLN 3, YANKTON 0 at Yankton Trail Park – Teren Schuster scored two goals, while Daniel Patterson scored another. With the win, the No. 2 Patriots advanced to the Class AA championship where they will meet No. 1Roosevelt. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell.
SF CHRISTIAN 3, HOT SPRINGS 0 at Bob Young Field – Joey Ten Napel, Paul Eide and Lee Wynja each scored goals for SFC. Wynja and Ten Napel also had assists. Matt Scott recorded the shutout for SFC. The Chargers will take on Groton in the Class A championship game Saturday.
