STATESVILLE, N.C. — Eric Hanson’s Statesville High School Greyhounds grabbed a much-needed win Monday, defeating North Piedmont rival South Iredell 3-1.
Hunter Faust, Jason Rosales, and Gabe Martinez each scored a goal for Statesville in the win. The Greyhounds are now 5-1 in NPC play, and currently sit a half-game behind conference leader Lake Norman High School. Statesville faces the Wildcats on October 6.
South Iredell has now lost two consecutive conference games following a 5-0 start in North Piedmont play. The Vikings visit North Lincoln High School on October 1, in what now appears to be a must-win game.
