Tim Tebow to headline OCS Benefit Event

A Heisman Trophy winner is coming to Monroe.

Tim Tebow will attend the 2014 OCS Benefit Event starting at 7 p.m. April 21 in the Jack Howard Center at the Monroe Civic Center.

The event will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Ouachita Christian School.

In 2007, Tebow became the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy and helped lead Florida to two national championship titles, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest college football players.

A first-round selection by Denver in 2010, Tebow helped the Broncos win a playoff game in 2011 after taking over as the starter midway through the season. He also played with the New York Jets in 2012 before briefly joining the New England Patriots this past season.

Perhaps more impressive are Tebow’s humanitarian efforts.

In 2010, he founded The Tim Tebow Foundation, which partners with CURE International to build hospitals in the Philippines. The foundation also grants wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses and builds playrooms in hospitals and orphanages, among other far-reaching charitable works.

Tebow also was selected as one of Time‘s 100 Most Influential People of 2012.

A limited number of premium/corporate ticket packages ($5,000 for six tickets) are available exclusively through the OCS Office at 325-6000. They can be purchased in person by cash, check or money order and in person only.

Tickets ranging from $30 to $150 are on sale through Ticketmaster, 800-745-3000 or http://www.ticketmaster.com, or at the Monroe Civic Center ticket office.
