TR duo named unanimous first-team all-EWC selections


Alexi and Kenzie Walesh led the Two Rivers girls basketball team in nearly every statistical category

Now, each of them is a unanimous first-team Eastern Wisconsin Conference selection.

Alexi Walesh, who was second team all-EWC a year ago, led the Raiders in scoring average this season with 12.4 points per game, a mark which placed her second in the conference in that category. She also averaged a team-high 6.2 rebounds per game.

Kenzie Walesh was a unanimous first team pick for the second straight year. She averaged 11.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest.

Sophomore Elena Garcia was an honorable mention selection, averaging 6.4 points and five rebounds per game.

Kiel had three all-conference selections including sophomore Cassie Schweitzer who was named to the first team. She led the EWC in scoring at 13.4 points per game and was third in the league in rebounding, grabbing eight boards per contest.

Maddie Dahmer was named second-team all-EWC. The senior recorded 9.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game this season.

Mia Voland was an honorable mention pick. She averaged 6.8 points per game and scored a career-high 18 against Two Rivers on Jan. 31.
