Mustafaa Dais swept the triple and high jumps and landed second in the long jump, standing out in the crowd for the Hackley boys team in the Ivy League Championships Wednesday night at The Armory.
The senior from Pomona traveled 42 feet, 11½ inches in the triple jump, 5-10 in the high jump and 20-11¼ in the long jump.
The Hackley boys placed fourth overall in the team standings, which were topped by Collegiate. The Hackley girls came in second behind Poly Prep Country Day.
Gabriella Zak stood out among the Hackley girls, claiming Ivy titles in the 55-meter hurdles at 9.55 seconds and the high jump at 4-10. Claire Gomba excelled as well, winning the 1,000 in 3 minutes, 18.45 seconds and the 1,600 in 5:25.47. The 800 relay finished first, crossing at 1:57.77. Julia Stevenson ran to a runner-up showing in the 3,200, finishing in 12:35.43. Sabina Thomas was second in the 55, covering the distance in 7.98 seconds.
Other notable finishes for the Hackley boys came from Ian Mook, who was second in the 55 hurdles at 8.61, third in the triple jump at 38-6¼ and fourth in the 300 at 38.75, and Harry Lieblich, who threw 40-3¾ to place second in the shot put.
