Trinity’s Stockton named Kentucky’s Mr. Soccer

Trinity’s Sam Stockton and Dixie Heights’ Lauren Nemeroff have been named Kentucky’s Mr. and Miss Soccer for the 2014 season.

Stockton had 14 goals and 21 assists as Trinity finished 21-3, falling to Scott 3-2 in the state tournament quarterfinals.

Stockton, who has signed with Indiana University, already was named Kentucky’s Offensive Player of the Year and was a first-team All-State pick. He will play in the High School All-American Game set for Dec. 13 in Raleigh, N.C.

Nemeroff had 17 goals and 11 assists for a Dixie Heights team that finished 8-8-2 and lost to Notre Dame 3-1 in the first round of the Ninth Region Tournament. She has signed with the University of Kentucky.
