WEST DES MOINES, Ia. – Sophomore Becca Hittner scored 20 points for Dowling Catholic and dished out four assists in a rematch of last season’s Class 5-A state championship game. Hayden Butler had four rebounds for the Maroons, who fell 43-34 against the Rams last March at Wells Fargo Arena.

Dowling jumped to a 26-10 lead after the first quarter and held a 32-20 advantage at the break.

Abby Penquite hit six 3-pointers and scored 20 points for Southeast Polk. The Rams (5-5) have lost three of their past four games. Sophomore Ashton Donels added 15 points.

Dowling, which won its fifth straight game, improved to 8-1.

Malaysia Duncan led Hoover with five 3-pointers and 16 points.

Indianola (8-2) plays at Dowling Catholic on Friday.

Freshman Taryn Knuth added 16 points and six rebounds for the Dragons. Lani Van Zyl hit four 3-pointers for Fort Dodge.

Johnston hosts Lincoln on Saturday.
