Union-Endicott scored twice in less than a minute of the first period, added another goal before intermission and went on to beat Johnson City 4-0 on Sunday in an elimination game in the Broome County High School Hockey Association playoffs at the SUNY Broome Ice Center.
Alex White and Tyler Pavloich struck first for Union-Endicott at 11:50 and 10:59 of the first period, respectively. Luke Wilbur added another goal to make it 3-0 and Anthony Pucedo finished the second in the second period with his goal.
Owen Miller made 26 saves for the shutout in goal for Union-Endicott, which will play at 7 p.m. Saturday against Chenango Forks in an elimination game at SUNY Broome.
Chenango Forks advanced to the elimination game with a 3-2 victory against Binghamton late on Saturday night at SUNY Broome. Josh Maus scored with 1:49 left in the third period to give Chenango Forks the victory after Adam Carman made 32 saves.
Binghamton led 1-0 going into the third period on a goal by Gene Segrue. Chenango Forks tied the game at 1 when Scott Craver scored, but Cameron Dunn restored Binghamton’s lead at 2-1 before Vinny Pascucci scored with 3:27 left in the third to tie the game once more.
