THE WINNER: Autumn Eastman
THE BASICS
School: Champlain Valley Union (Hinesburg, Vt.)
Grade: Senior
Position: Distance runner
Height: 5-foot-3
Athletic achievement: She raced to the Division 1 individual state championship this past season with a time of 18:47.4, leading the Redhawks to the state title as a team. The state’s 2012-13 Gatorade Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year, Eastman took third at both the New England Cross Country Championships and the Nike Cross Nationals Northeast Regional championships. She finished 16th nationally at the NXN Final with a time of 17:56.9.
Academic excellence: Eastman has maintained a 4.02 GPA.
Exemplary character: Also a standout Nordic skier, she has volunteered locally on behalf of middle school literacy-outreach initiatives and youth ski programs. She has also donated her time as a tutor in her school.

THE FUTURE: Eastman has verbally committed to Georgetown.
