How can one be embarrassed to score a show-stopping, double-deke-ing goal? When it comes at the end of a monumental blowout.

That’s precisely what happened in the Ontario Hockey League, where budding 17-year-old Niagara prospect Graham Knott drove in an incredible final goal for the IceDogs in a 9-2 rout of the Belleville Bulls.

The goal of the week was brought to USA TODAY’s attention by Buzzing the Net, which noted just how muted Knott’s celebration was after the puck trickled in. The loss was a sixth-straight for the Bulls, so it’s understandable that Knott would have wanted to emphasize sportsmanship by minimizing his own celebrations.

Still, on a goal like that? Which has to be one of the best of his career? Clearly Knott is a young man of character … and one who will likely be the property of an NHL team this time next year.
