Kellyanne Cherry had 14 kills, 11 digs and two aces as the visiting John Jay High School volleyball team defeated Lakeland 24-26, 25-8, 25-19, 25-18 in Shrub Oak on Thursday.
“They pulled it together and it was a true team effort again,” John Jay coach Maria Mahoney said. “Everyone played, trusted one another and got the job done.”
Kirsten Zier had 14 kills, six digs and two blocks for John Jay (10-5), which hosts Mahopac Friday at 4:30 p.m. Sam Fitzgerald had six blocks.
Franklin D. Roosevelt 3, Highland 0 — Briana Lamonica contributed 22 assists, two kills and two aces as the Presidents from Hyde Park won on the road, 25-19, 25-12, 25-16.
Sarah Hof added nine kills, three aces and a block for Roosevelt, which also capitalized on nine kills from Alyssa Dam.
Alexis Brown paced the Huskies with three aces, two digs and an assist. Highland also received two aces and two kills from Emily Rider, as well as Alexis Wilson’s four assists and two aces.
Pawling 3, Alexander Hamilton 0 — The host Tigers swept, 25-23, 25-9, 25-15, behind Jaclyn Smith’s 11 kills, 12 assists, 13 aces and five digs.
Clara Lombardo, in her first match back after missing three weeks due to a concussion, had 10 kills, 13 assists, four aces and two digs. Mikayla Ward had seven kills for Pawling (8-6). Pawling hosts Brewster at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
“We’re back to being full-strength, but we’re a little rusty in a few areas with people shifting back to different positions,” Pawling coach Jessica Pulford said.
Rhinebeck 3, Dover 2 — Bailey Hutchins had 21 kills, 17 assists, 16 digs and two aces as the host Hawks beat the Dragons, 25-16, 30-28, 13-25, 15-25, 25-20.
Samantha Sherwood left the match after two games for Rhinebeck with cramps and had 10 kills, four aces and two assists. Alicia Acosta had 15 assists. Carmel Rozada added 19 digs.
For Dover, Irena Henry had 15 kills and three blocks. Sara Regan had two kills and three aces. Megan Wood had 29 digs.
Millbrook 3, Marlboro 0 — Meredith Dignan had 15 assists, nine digs, five kills, two aces and a block as the visiting Blazers swept the Iron Dukes, 25-23, 25-17, 25-17.
Megan Fergus had eight kills and two blocks for Millbrook (12-1). Emily Kelly added seven kills. Liz Halpin contributed six kills and one block.
Kayla Garitta had 11 assists and two digs for Marlboro. Shannon Corcoran had six aces, six digs and three kills. Taylor Orszewski had four kills, two blocks, two aces and an assist.
New Paltz 3, Webutuck 0 — Kelly Brinkman had eight aces and two kills to help the host Huguenots to a 25-15, 25-14, 25-12 win over the Warriors.
Lauren Apuzzo had four aces, five assists and two digs for New Paltz (6-10). Taylor Keller added two aces, four digs and three kills.
For Webutuck, Barijana Caldas had four kills, three aces and two assists. Kayla Ball added three aces and three digs. Haleigh Stephenson had three kills and an ace. Kristin Brennan had three kills, three aces and two digs.
Mahopac 3, Our Lady of Lourdes 2 — Joanne Gregory had 33 assists, nine digs and three blocks, but the host Warriors fell to the Indians, 21-25, 24-26, 25-20, 25-15, 25-19.
Briana Garnot had 23 kills, six aces, 15 digs and two blocks for Lourdes. Natalie Ciccone had 10 kills and nine digs. Jessica D’Auria had 11 kills, 11 digs and three blocks.
Lourdes (9-8) hosts Beacon at 6 p.m. on Monday.
Scarsdale 3, Arlington 0 — The host Admirals’ lone senior, Angela Bracco, had 13 kills and 19 digs, but Arlington fell on Senior Night, 25-23, 25-19, 25-18.
Rachael Torella had 17 assists, seven digs and three kills for Arlington (6-10). Tori Scharff had six blocks, three kills and two digs. Kira Payman had 16 digs, six kills, an ace and a block. Erin Mahoney had two blocks and two digs. Alyssa Connell contributed six digs, five assists and one ace. Claryssa Lotocky had four digs and an ace. Kiara Allen had four digs and one ace.
