Wapahani senior Grant Evans is an Indiana All-Star.
The Indianapolis Star released the 13 selections Thursday afternoon. Two Ball State signees, Indianapolis Tech guard Jeremie Tyler and Greensburg forward Sean Sellers, join Evans on the Indiana All-Star team.
All-Star games director Charlie Hall named the team with input from All-Star coach David Benter (Brownstown Central) and assistants James Blackmon Sr. (Marion) and Clint Swan (Crown Point).
Evans averaged 25.5 points and 6.7 rebounds in propelling Wapahani to a 22-2 record and top-five ranking in Class 2A. He holds the Wapahani all-time scoring record and is signed to play for Wright State.
“It’s a huge honor,” Evans said. “It’s a testament to the people who put in a lot of time, invested a lot of time in me. And it’s a testament to the hard work that I’ve put in, and to be able to represent Indiana during All-Star week against the Junior All-Stars and against Kentucky is a really big deal.”
The rest of the All-Star team: Trey Lyles (Tech); James Blackmon, Jr. (Marion); Tayler Persons (Kokomo); D.J. McCall (Fort Wayne Concordia); P.J. Thompson IV (Brebeuf); Bryant McIntosh (Greensburg); Zach McRoberts (Carmel); Mack Mercer (Plymouth); Trevon Bluiett (Park Tudor) and Tyler Wideman (Lake Central).
