Wes-Del had six individual champions Thursday to pick up the Mid-Eastern Conference team crown at Monroe Central. The Warriors also had three runners-us, taking a total of nine wrestlers into the championship round.
Wes-Del put up 378 points, and second-place Monroe Central had 264 points.
The Warriors’ Daniel Cassel won at 106 to begin the championship round, though he was the only entrant in his weight class and didn’t have to wrestle a match. Dylan Torbush followed with a win at 120. Devin Gill won at 145 for the Warriors, and Evan Bishop followed with a victory at 145.
The Warriors’ Tre’ Quinn won the title at 182, and teammate Brendon Thornburg took the crown at 195. In finishing second, Monroe Central had two individual champions. Robert Ford won at 132 and Kaiser Phillips was the victor at 220.
Daleville had 253 points to finish third. The Broncos had three individual champions, with Jonathan Drown winning at 152, Corbin Maddox winning at 160 and Connor Clark taking the title at 285.
Wapahani’s Jared Coats won at 126 to help his team score 192 points and finish fourth. Blue River finished fifth at 124 points. The Vikings’ Emeline Scott won the title at 113 and teammate Noah Pope was the champion at 170. Randolph Southern finished sixth with 28 points.
