CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After playing a close first half, the West Charlotte High School boys basketball team turned it on in the second half last night, beating Butler 101-70.

In the second frame, the Bulldogs trailed by just one point going into the locker room at halftime 39-38. At the half, West Charlotte made the necessary adjustments, dominating the second half. The Lions outscored Butler 62-32 in a second half boat race.

The Lions had five players in double figures Monday, led by Isiah Blackmon’s double-double with 23 points and 13 total rebounds. Simeon Carter also had a big night, scoring 23 and pulling down 12 rebounds. Malik Massey scored 14 and picked up six assists in the victory. Michael Boone (10) and Nakia Rivers (12) also scored in double figures for the Lions.
