West starts new streak with win in Wisconsin


A day after seeing its streak of 60 straight wins come to a close, the West High boys basketball team picked up an out-of-state win by defeating Sun Prairie (Wis.) 63-48 at the Wisconsin Dells.

Wyatt Lohaus scored a team-high 21 points to lead the Trojans. David Dileo added 10 points, while Connor McCaffery had nine points and five assists. West out-rebounded Sun Prairie 25-20.

West now is 9-1.

* DYERSVILLE BECKMAN 64, CLEAR CREEK AMANA 52: Nile Rourke scored 17 points in the Clippers’ loss to Dyersville Beckman. Cody Wagner added seven points. Rourke also had four steals.

Clear Creek Amana is 3-6.

* PEKIN 56, IMS 52: Holding a 50-45 lead with four minutes to play, Iowa Mennonite School could not finish as it went on to lose 56-52 to Pekin.

Dallas Nye led with 16 points, Reggie Hostetler and Zach Hill each had 10, and Eli Gingerich recorded eight points and four assists. Nick Yutzy added six points.

IMS went in to halftime on a 13-4 run. IMS falls to 8-2 on the season.


* REGINA 61, MONTICELLO 39: Hannah Stein’s career-high 17 points pushed the Regals to a win over Monticello at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids.

Katie Wick added 12 points. Jenna Lehman pulled down 12 rebounds and had six steals.

Regina is 8-2.

* PEKIN 57, IMS 44: Despite a pair of 12-point performances from Olivia Yutzy and Riley Schmieder, Iowa Mennonite School fell to Pekin.

Hannah Miller recorded seven points, four rebounds and four assists. Yutzy also had five rebounds.

IMS now is 5-5.

* DYERSVILLE BECKMAN 45, CLEAR CREEK AMANA 40: Clear Creek Amana squandered a 35-27 lead heading in to the fourth quarter and ultimately lost to Dyersville Beckman.

Hanna Stokes led the Clippers with 16 points.

Clear Creek Amana is 3-7.
