The Valders boys basketball team led 24-21 at halftime and pulled away in the second half to knock off visiting Luxemburg-Casco on Saturday 65-52 to claim a WIAA Division 3 regional championship.
The No. 2 seeded Vikings (21-3) used a strong second quarter, outscoring the No. 3 Spartans (13-11) 17-11 to build a healthy 41-32 advantage entering the final frame.
Forest Fenlon scored 22 points for Valders while teammates Zack Goedeke (15) and Paxton Korslin (12) were also in double figures.
Next up for the Vikings will be a third meeting this season with Olympian Conference rival and No. 1 seed Roncalli on Thursday in De Pere for the sectional semifinal. The Jets won both previous games.

The No. 1 Jets (23-1) rallied past the No. 4 Tigers (14-10) after trailing 11-8 after the first quarter.
Roncalli was able to outscore Wrightstown 13-7 in the third quarter to take command of the game. The Tigers made a late charge in the fourth but the Jets were able to convert their opportunities at the line down the stretch. Roncalli finished the game 12-of-15 from the line.
Sam Dudek and Logan Theisen each scored 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers each, to lead the Jets. Also hitting two 3’s for Roncalli was Nick Stelzer as the Jets drained nine 3-pointers as a team.
