Wrestling: Costello wins title for Cougars at Trocat Scramble

Cedar Grove-Belgium Invitational: Campbellsport junior Alex Costello carried his family’s name well at Saturday’s Trocat Scramble, hosted by Cedar-Grove Belgium, going 4-0 with four pins on his way to the 106-pound title.

Costello — who’s older brother Ryan won a state championship last year — improved to 19-1 on the season. He pinned Southern Door’s Ben Hoida in second period of the final.

That highlighted the day for the Cougars, who finished ninth out of 13 teams in the standings. Four others placed in the top six for them.

Mason Ksioszk was third at 145, going 2-2, while Bennett Marchant was fourth at 113. Dominick Wetzel was fifth at 120 and Levi Feucht was sixth at 138.
