Recent Richmond High School graduate Peyton Young won a pair of doubles matches during the 16th annual North-South Senior Tennis All-Star Cup at Marian University Sunday.
Young teamed with Center Grove’s Kaitlyn Walsh to defeat Penn’s Cameron Moore and Northwood’s Kennedy Walter 6-4, before helping Abbi Franklin of Paoli defeat Whiting’s Kaylin Anderson and Mt. Vernon’s Allie Schafer 6-0.
The North team came from behind to win the Cup 30-27.
The first two rounds consisted of six-game sets while the players played super tie-breaks in the third round. During the final round, the North Team captured seven of eight tie-breakers.
The event honored top senior players from across the state.
Young went 85-12 during her four-year career as Richmond’s No. 1 singles player, helping the Red Devils win four sectional titles and a regional title in 2014.
