ZANESVILLE – Despite falling behind early, Zanesville never wavered Tuesday.
The Lady Devils overcame a 2-0 deficit with five unanswered goals and held on for a 5-4 victory over visiting Tri-Valley at John D. Sulsberger Memorial Stadium.
Layne Hartnell and Kenna Stones each had a goal as Tri-Valley built a 2-0 lead in the first half.
Destiny Johnson tied the game at 2 right before the half for Zanesville, while Madison Ashby scored twice and Karissa Weekley added a goal in the second half to push the lead to 5-2.
Chloe Williams and Hartnell each scored to pull the Scotties within one, but they couldn’t get the game-tying goal.
