COACH OF THE YEAR

Joe Michalski, Hardin Valley Academy (Knoxville)
Going 1-for-1 is perfect. It’s also pretty amazing, considering Michalski skippered Hardin Valley into its first state tournament this year (the school opened in 2008) and won it all. The Hawks broke open a 2-2 score in the ninth inning by scoring eight runs in the Class AAA title game against rival (and defending champion) Farragut in May. Hardin Valley finished 30-15.
