COACH OF THE YEAR: Caleb Ross, McGill-Toolen (Mobile)

The Caleb Ross-era got off to an inauspicious start last fall, as the Yellow Jackets went 2-6 in Ross’ first eight games. Since then, the team has gone 15-1 and claimed this year’s Class 7A state championship. The team finished 2015 on a nine-game winning streak and capped it off with a 14-12 win over Spain Park in the title game.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Tyler Johnston, Spanish Fort

Johnston capped a remarkable high school career with a phenomenal senior season this fall. He passed for 3,616 yards and added 750 more on the ground while totaling 53 combined touchdowns en route to a Class 6A state championship. He finished his career 35-0 as a starting quarterback with three state championships to his credit. Johnston has committed to play at UAB, which is scheduled to rejoin the FBS ranks in 2017.
