USA TODAY High School Sports is proud to announce the 2015 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Hawaii Football Team. Players were selected based on their athletic achievements from the 2015-16 season.

COACH OF THE YEAR: Vavae Tata, Kahuku

In his first year at the helm, Tata led the Red Raiders to an undefeated season and a Division I state crown. A former standout defensive end at UCLA and an assistant coach at Vanderbilt and Stanford, Tata’s defensive acumen clearly shined through for a team that surrendered an average of 4.1 points per game.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Vavae Malepeai, Mililani

Malepeai paced all Hawaii running backs with 1,944 yards and 29 touchdowns this fall. The Oregon pledge and U.S. Army All-American finished his career with state records for rushing yards (4,549) and rushing touchdowns (71).

Santiago earned Oahu Interscholastic Association Defensive Player of the Year honors after piling up seven interceptions this fall. He was the leader of a defense that posted six shutouts and allowed an average of 4.1 points per game en route to a Division I state title.
