COACH OF THE YEAR: Tim Tyrrell, Archbishop Hoban (Akron)
The third-year head coach brought home Hoban’s first state title in the football team’s 61-year history this fall. The Knights went 14-1 thanks to a smothering defense that allowed 11 points per game and held teams to 10 points or less eight times. Ohio State-bound junior running back Todd Sibley’s 2,100 yards and 26 touchdowns didn’t hurt, either.
OFFENSE
