COACH OF THE YEAR: Steve LaPrad, Fort Dorchester (North Charleston)

LaPrad led the Patriots to the state semifinals in his first year at the helm in 2003, but it wasn’t until 2014 that his team got that far again. After another semifinal exit last year, LaPrad and company didn’t have to wait another 11 years for a return trip. Instead, Fort Dorchester went a couple steps farther this fall and won the Division I-AAAA state tournament to claim its first-ever crown. LaPrad had the luxury of coaching U.S. Army All-American offensive lineman John Simpson, who was they key for an offense that averaged 44 points a game.

OFFENSE

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Austin Scott, Spartanburg

Scott posted some eye-popping numbers for the Vikings this fall. He piled up 5,144 passing yards with a 68.9 percent completion rate and fired 63 touchdown passes against 14 interceptions.  Scott formed an incredible 1-2 punch with running back Tavien Feaster to lead Spartanburg to the Division II-AAAA state semifinals.
