COACH OF THE YEAR: Dustin Pearce, Herriman

Pearce led the Mustangs on an impressive playoff run this fall to bring home Herriman’s first-ever state title. Pearce’s gang avenged regular season losses to Brighton and Lone Peak en route to the Class 5A crown. After losing its regular season finale to Lone Peak, 30-0, Herriman turned around and dropped the nationally ranked Knights, 17-14, in one of the nation’s most surprising title-game upsets.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: WR Simi Fehoko, Brighton (Cottonwood Heights)

Fehoko closed his career in record-setting fashion this fall, piling up 1,495 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns to set career records in both categories. The U.S. Army All-American will play his college ball at Stanford.
