COLUMBUS – Twenty-one area football players were named All-Ohio Wednesday night by the Associated Press.
Eight made first team.
In Division V, Mount Gilead senior Michael Mollohan (6-4, 275) made it as an offensive lineman, while Galion senior running back Drake Barnett (5-10, 175) and Mount Gilead senior defensive back Deondre Cook (5-8, 155) made first team as well.
In Division VI, Cardington junior Devin Pearl (6-3, 170) at wide receiver, Colonel Crawford senior Will Kirkpatrick (6-0, 215) at quarterback, Hillsdale senior Eric Pickering (6-6, 195) at defensive line, Fredericktown senior Kirk Manns (6-2, 185) at defensive back and Loudonville senior Austin VanSickle (5-11, 172) were all first team.
Making second team in Division VI were Cardington senior linebacker Trey Williams (6-2, 225) and Wynford senior offensive guard James Ort (6-5, 270).
Special mention in Division V were Mount Gilead’s Jonah Barnett and Zack Foster and Galion’s Isaiah Davis and Colton Moore.
Special mention in Division VI were Fredericktown’s Michael Cockrell, Brenden Reed and Brian Singleton, Cardington’s Ethan Stambaugh, and Colonel Crawford’s Chase Mandusic, Josh Dye and Owen Adams.
