Corson Davis, Jake Vaughn and Logan Holmquist have been teammates for a long time.

They’re going to be teammates for a while longer.

The Sprague High School seniors have signed letters of intent to compete in wrestling at Southern Oregon.

“I love it,” Vaughn said. “I think just because we’ve been teammates for so long it will be a good thing to carry on into college.”

The three, who have been teammates since middle school, were Greater Valley Conference district champions as seniors. Davis placed second in state at 170 pounds, Holmquist placed third in state at 132 pounds, and Vaughn placed fifth in state at 138.

Although the three have done a lot together, they made their decisions separately.

Davis visited Southern Oregon a week before Vaughn and Holmquist went on their visit.

“We had a really good time on the visit,” Holmquist said. “It was really nice. The school and everything was really nice. The wrestling room was great, their program was great, and we’re excited.”

All three plan to major in some area of business, too.

“We’re all three best friends, so it’s going to be pretty fun going down there with those two,” Davis said, “but they didn’t really influence my decision at all.”
