KUSA – 9NEWS will be covering the 2015 high school boys basketball state tournament the next week. The Class 4A boys Great 8 play starts Saturday, March 7 at host high schools.
The Final 4 and State Championship will be held at CU’s Coors Events Center on Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14 respectively.
These match ups are organized from the earliest game to the latest:
FINAL SCORE: No. 1 Longmont 47, No. 2 Valor Christian 46

Trojans Coach: Jeff Kloster
Record: 26-0, 14-0 Northern League
A 67-45 win over No. 5 Windsor sent Longmont to the Great 8. The single state title dates back to 1937.
Eagles Coach: Ronnie Degray
Record: 20-6, 13-2 Jeffco League
Valor was Great 8 bound after a 75-60 triumph over No. 3 Sand Creek. Whereas Valor football is a well-known state champ powerhouse, the boys hoops squad has yet to claim a state title.
No. 1 Longmont plays No. 2 Sierra in the Final 4 on Friday, March 13.
FINAL SCORE: No. 4 Pueblo South 47, No. 2 Sierra 56
Colts Coach: DJ Johnson
Record: 19-7, 8-2 South Central League
Pueblo South was Great 8 bound after upsetting the No. 1 seed Holy Family 72-59. The Colts have two state titles, with the most recent in 2001.
Stallions Coach: Terry Dunn
Record: 23-3, 14-0 Colorado Springs Metro League
Sierra was headed to the Great 8 after a 60-44 victory over No. 6 Falcon. The only state championships in school history are claimed by boys hoops — a solid four state titles, with the most recent in 2010. Sierra was also up USA TODAY’s best boys basketball program 2015.
No. 2 Sierra plays No. 1 Longmont in the Final 4 on Friday, March 13.
FINAL SCORE: No. 1 Golden 41, No. 2 Air Academy 45
Demons Coach: John Anderson
Record: 22-4, 14-1 Jeffco League
Golden solidified it’s place in the Great 8 by beating No. 4 Thomas Jefferson 69-65. The Demons started off the season hot, and were on the 9NEWS radar all season. The Demons are shooting for a first state title.
Kadets Coach: Barry Clark
Record: 22-4, 12-2 Pikes Peak League
The Kadets went to the Great 8 by a 64-54 win over No. 3 Pine Creek. Air Academy boys hoops’ only state title dates back to 1989.
No. 2 Air Academy will play No. 4 Lewis-Palmer in the Final 4 on Friday, March 13.
FINAL SCORE: No. 4 Lewis-Palmer 57, No. 3 D’Evelyn 55
Rangers Coach: Bill Benton
Record: 19-7, 11-3 Pikes Peak League
Lewis-Palmer pulled the 58-48 upset over No. 1 Denver South to advance to the Great 8. The Rangers have three state titles, with the most recent in 2013.
Jaguars Coach: Troy Pachner
Record: 17-9, 11-4 Jeffco League
D’Evelyn advanced the the Great 8 with a 64-47 win over No. 7 Mitchell. The Jaguars single state title was won in 2004.
No. 4 Lewis-Palmer plays No. 2 Air Academy in the Final 4 on Friday, March 13.
State veterans — The only squad this year that hasn’t won a state title is Golden. Lewis-Palmer won back-to-back titles in 2012, 2013. Sierra has three titles from 2000, 2009 and 2010. Pueblo South took home a title in 2001.
