Brad Hawkins Jr., a four-star wide receiver from Camden, N.J., verbally committed to Michigan today, becoming the 21st member of the Wolverines’ 2016 recruiting class.

Hawkins is listed at 6-feet-2 and 195 pounds. He’s ranked by rivals.com as the No. 7 prospect in New Jersey and No. 206 in the country, as well as the No. 42 receiver.

“I will be taking my talents to the BIG HOUSE by committing to The University of Michigan,” Hawkins wrote on Twitter.

Hawkins had narrowed his college choices to U-M, Oregon, South Carolina, Rutgers and Temple.

He’s high school teammates with four-star defensive end Ron Johnson, who committed to U-M last month.

Verbal commitments are nonbinding until national letters of intent are signed in February.
