Name: Alecia Sutton

School: Parkway North (St. Louis, Mo.)

Sport: Girls Basketball

Position: Point Guard

What we’ve seen: Sutton is among the elite guards in the class of 2016. Ranked seventh overall and third at her position (according to ESPN), Sutton did it all for the Vikings last season. Padding the stat book every game, Sutton averaged 16.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.3 steals. Sutton led Parkway North to a 25-6 record, finishing third in the program’s first-ever Class 5 state tournament appearance.

On her 16th birthday this past December, Sutton verbally committed to the University of Texas, selecting the Longhorns over other offers from the likes of Tennessee, UCLA, Nebraska and Louisville.

Why we’re watching: An athletic guard who loves to run the floor and thrives in uptempo games, Sutton is known as a scorer thanks to her ability to knock down a mid-range jumper and finish at the rim. She’s truly a triple threat with the ball in her hand and plays with a swagger that intimidates any and all defenders. Speaking of defending, her on-ball defending around the perimeter makes Sutton the total package in the backcourt.

Watch the video below (from 3:15-4:45) and you’ll see that it’s safe to say there’s plenty more to be seen from Parkway’s three-year starter.
