MURFREESBORO – The District 7-AAA and 9-A basketball tournaments have been postponed until Saturday.
Both tournaments will have the girls and boys consolation and championship games held the same day.
In 7-AAA, Riverdale will play Smyrna at 11 a.m. in the girls consolation. Oakland and Stewarts Creek will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the boys consolation. Oakland will then face Blackman at 2 p.m. in the girls championship. Blackman and Siegel will wrap up the day at 3:30 p.m. with the boys championship.
All four 7-AAA games will be held at Riverdale’s Johnny Parsley Memorial Gymnasium.
In 9-A, Moore County and Huntland will play at 3 p.m. in the girls consolation game. Community and Fayetteville will then play at 4:30 p.m. in the boys consolation. MTCS will play at 6 p.m. in the girls championship. Moore County and Huntland then plays at 7:30 p.m. in the boys championship.
All of the 9-A games are being held at Eagleville.
The District 8-AA tournament is still scheduled for Thursday for the girls and Friday for the boys.
Upperman and Livington Academy are playing in the girls consolation at 6 p.m. Central Magnet and Cannon County are in the championship game at 7:30 p.m.
The TSSAA has pushed the start of region play to Monday. The high school athletic association said on Wednesday that all district tournaments must be completed per its rules.
