Jack Abraham completed 28 of 32 passes for 426 yards and five touchdowns as host Oxford rolled to a 56-26 win over Lake Cormorant on Thursday night. The Chargers, who are the top seed in Region 1-5A, finished the regular season 9-2. DK Metcalf had 10 catches for 183 yards and two touchdowns, and Hiram Wadlington rushed for 108 yard and one score for the Chargers.
Will Guest was 20 of 34 passing for 211 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions for Lake Cormorant (7-5). Carlos Hicks had all four TD catches and finished with 10 receptions for 122 yards.
West Point 34, Lewisburg 0: At West Point, Marcus Murphy had a pair of TD passes to Demarrio Edwards and Thomas Williams, as well as an 83-yard touchdown run as the Green Wave finished the regular season 9-2. Trevino Harris had a 40-yard interception return for a TD, and Chris Calvert had a 39-yard rushing score.
Tupelo 35, Olive Branch 28: At Tupelo, the Golden Wave scored 22 unanswered points and turned a Brady Burse interception into a Kegan Huddleston 1-yard touchdown with 17 seconds left as Tupelo (6-5) earned the No. 3 seed in Region 1-6A with the win. Olive Branch (6-5) will go in as the No. 4 seed. Huddleston had two rushing touchdowns for the Golden Wave, and Burse had two passing scores for the Conquistadors.
Grenada 6, Neshoba Central 3: At Philadelphia, DD Bridges’ 47-yard run in the fourth quarter gave the Chargers (9-2) the win.
Class 4A playoffs
Noxubee County 41, Amory 10: At Macon, Timorris Conner was 8 of 11 passing for 151 yards and a TD and rushed for another score as the Tigers (8-4) won their sixth game in a row. Ty’Quintin Ramsey also had three rushing TDs for Noxubee.
Class 3A playoffs
West Marion 32, Choctaw County 19: At Foxworth, Josh Miller passed for 301 yards and four touchdowns (60, 41, 20, 77) as the Trojans advanced to the second round. West Marion (11-1) scored 32 points in a row after falling behind 7-0 in the first quarter. Damian Johnson had six catches for 131 yards and a TD, and Caleb Batie rushed for 126 yards. Kevon Alford had 11 tackles and an interception.
Franklin County 38, St. Andrew’s 10: At Meadville, Courtney Smith rushed for 182 yards and 2 TDs, and Gerryion Bell caught and returned a missed field goal attempt 99 yards for a touchdown as the Bulldogs advanced to the second round. Deion Buckles also had a 55-yard interception return for a score for Franklin County (8-4).
Class 2A playoffs
East Webster 42, Walnut 8: At Maben, Malcolmb Jones caught a 9-yard touchdown pass, had an interception return and returned a 40-yard punt for another score as the Wolverines cruised to a first-round playoff win. Jack Wilson had a rushing and passing touchdown, and Luke Wilson had a 30-yard fumble return for a score as East Webster (11-1) led 42-0 at the half.
