Oxford quarterback Jack Abraham was named Mississippi’s Gatorade player of the year award on Thursday.
The Tulane commit and Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen led the Chargers to the Class 5A state championship for a third straight year. Through 14 games this season, Abraham has completed 65.6 percent of his passes for 4,541 yards, 53 touchdowns and five interceptions. The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder has 11,471 career passing yards and 126 touchdowns.
Oxford faces Wayne County on Saturday at 7 p.m. inside Ole Miss’ Vaught Hemingway Stadium.
