Asheville Christian Academy girls coach John Williams promised not to cry Wednesday and kept his word.

Two of his seniors, guard Taylor Robinson (Covenent, Ga.) and forward/center Moriah Siemens (Columbia International, S.C.), signed to play college basketball during a lunchtime ceremony in the ACA cafeteria.

“I’m so very proud for both Taylor and Moriah,” Williams said.

“They are great basketball players, but great people, too.”

Robinson was an NCISAA 2-A all-state guard and All-Carolinas Athletic Association player for the Lions (16-11) this winter.

She averaged a team-high 15.4 points a game to go along with 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 1.6 assists.

Robinson was also an all-state outside hitter for the Lions’ NCISAA 2-A championship volleyball team in 2014. She had 302 kills, 272 digs and 28 service aces.

Siemens was an All-Carolinas Athletic Association basketball player who averaged 13.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 1.2 assists per game for the Lions (16-11). She was also part of the school’s NCISAA 2-A championship volleyball team in 2014.

Siemens’ older sister, Abigail, is a sophomore basketball player at Columbia International and Rams coach Tammy Holder attended Wednesday’s ceremony.
