The state tennis tournament is this week in Denver.

Five local boys tennis positions were in playbacks at the boys state tennis tournament Friday, but none advance to Saturday’s third-place matches.

At No. 2 singles Fossil Ridge senior JacksonJohar lost in the playback semifinals to Fairview at Gates Tennis Center in Denver.

Fossil Ridge freshman JacksonHolland beat Pine Creek’s Josh Haddad in three sets in the first round of playbacks at No. 3 singles. Holland was then eliminated when he lost in two sets to Fairview in the playback semis.

TristanFaust and GabePagat of Fossil Ridge beat MitchCarlson and TraeBeneck of Fort Collins in the first playback round at No. 1 doubles. Faust and Pagat then lost to Chatfield in three sets in the playback semifinals and were eliminated.

RexBoge and LuukLafayette beat Rock Canyon in three sets in the first round of playbacks at No. 4 doubles. They then lost in two sets to Cherry Creek in the consolation semis.

No locals will compete in Saturday’s finals or third-place matches.
