ELLIE WILSON, Greenwood Christian
Wilson is a two-sport athlete at Greenwood Christian, competing in cross country and soccer. This soccer season she has broken school records for goals in a season (19) and assists in a season (8). Wilson also has the school record for goals in a game with 5 against Lutheran.
BRADEY GERKE, Lakewood Park Christian School
Gerke scored 5 goals on Sept. 15 against Fort Wayne Snider, and 5 on Sept. 17 against Lakeland Christian Academy in only 110 mins of playing time. He leads Indiana with 33 goals. As a senior on a young team, he unselfishly leads and creatively facilitates offense while also attacking.
ELIZABETH FIUTEM, Oldenburg Academy
Fiutem has led a resurgence of volleyball for Oldenburg Academy. After a 1-9 start, OA is 7-7 in its last 14, 5-1 in the last six. On 113 serves, she had 38 aces and 70 points, delivered 87 assists on 323 setting attempts, and hit .583; all while also being selected for National Honor Society.
KENNEDY BONWELL, North Montgomery
Bonwell set the school record with a 36 in the Montgomery County meet Sept. 16. She followed that up by winning the IHSAA Crawfordsville Sectional with an 80 on Sept. 19.
CHRIS BAILEY, Covenant Christian
In last week’s matches, Bailey went 2-1 at No. 1 singles, losing to Bishop Chatard on Sept. 14, but coming back to defeat Decatur Central on Sept. 16. Bailey also defeated Brownsburg in No. 1 doubles on Sept. 17. He displayed his skill in sportsmanship and mental toughness in all three matches, according to his coach.
LANDON McPHEETERS, West Washington
McPheeters helped lead his team over Paoli High School 52-34, in a Patoka Lake Athletic Conference game. The win moved the Senators to 4-0 in the conference and 5-0 on the season. McPheeters rushed for 282 yards on 12 carries and 7 touchdowns, which set a school record and a PLAC record for touchdowns.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
ALEX BUCK, Pendleton Heights
Buck finished in first place for the girls at the Flashrock Invitational with a time of 18:09. She has a season best of 17:45.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
JULIEN MAGALLES, Borden High
Magalles finished in first place for the boys at the Flashrock Invitational with a time of 15:38. His finish time was just shy of his season best of 15:14.
