Top area performances by Central Indiana athletes over the past week:

In baseball, Cathedral pitcher Will Conway threw a one-hitter to spark a 5-1 win by the Class 4A No. 1 Irish over 4A No. 5 Lawrence North.

In softball, senior Abbey Pratt of 4A No. 6 Center Grove earned complete-game victories over two top-10 rivals; a 3-1 win over 4A No. 1 New Palestine and a 12-1 rout of 4A No. 9 Franklin Central.

In boys’ golf, Palmer Tweedy of Carmel shot a 71 to win medalist honors as the No. 4 Greyhounds captured the Lebanon Invitational team title in a field that included No. 2 Westfield, No. 5 Hamilton Southeastern, No. 6 Plainfield, No. 7 Zionsville, No.14 Crown Point and No. 16 Noblesville.

In girls’ tennis, Claire Reifeis of No. 2 North Central topped Molly Fletchall of No. 1 Carmel in straight sets, but the Greyhounds still knocked off the Panthers 3-2 in a tennis showdown between the state’s top two teams.

In girls track, Lynna Irby of Pike won all three sprints (100, 200 and 400 meters) as the Red Devils took third place in the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference meet, behind No. 1 Warren Central and No. 2 Carmel.

In boys track, Christopher Bluish of Guerin Catholic won the 400- and 800-meter runs in the All-Catholic Track & Field Championships, helping the Golden Eagles share the team title with Cathedral.
