Boys or girls, Brooklyn Allen is about to surpass every one of her predecessors at Pisgah.
Allen is a senior guard whose 1,779 career points are the second-highest total in school history for either gender behind 2006 graduate Jake Robinson (1,781 points.). He led the Black Bears boys team to a NCHSAA 2-A championship in 2005.
Robinson continued his career in college for Western Carolina University, while Allen has signed with Appalachian State.
Pisgah (11-1) plays the host school in Wednesday night’s 7 p.m. championship game of the Freedom Christmas Invitational in Morganton. Allen poured in 29 points and grabbed a dozen rebounds in Tuesday’s 55-43 semifinal win over East Burke.
Maddie Webb and Brayden Lewis joined her in double figures with 12 points apiece. Webb collected seven rebounds as well.
