Kyra Cox, a rising sophomore at John Jay, came from behind to win the AJGA’s Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Boston Junior, shooting a tournament low 1-under 71 in the final round at Cyprian Keyes Golf Club to capture her third title of the summer by two shots.
The 15-year-old from South Salem was in a fifth-place tie when the day began and finished with a 5-over 221 total. Cox had already won the New York State Junior PGA Championship and the New York State Golf Association Women’s Amateur.
Rina Jung of Briarcliff Manor (75-85-79) finished in 14th place.
In the boys division, Martin Jensen of Bronxville (77-75-73) tied for 16th, Nathan Han of Somers (74-77-75) tied for 19th Jay Milch of Mount Kisco (80-88-76) was 57th and Sol Thompson of Scarsdale (86-76-83) was 58th.
