CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Ardrey Kell’s successful boys and girls basketball program was honored Friday, with the school making it a clean sweep of the yearly awards handed out in the South Meck 8 Conference. Boys coach Mike Craft was named Coach of the Year, while senior star Steven Santa Ana was named Player of the Year. Santa Ana set a new NCHSAA championship game record with 44 points in last Saturday’s state title game.

The Lady Knights also brought home some hardware, with head coach Jeff Buseick being named Coach of the Year. Jordan Muhammad was recognized with the Player of the Year award in the conference. The Knights landed six total players on the all-conference team between the boys and girls.
