Devils fall twice

Richmond fell to Columbus North 8-2 and to East Central 5-2 during Saturday’s Columbus East Invitational.

Chris Larson had three hits on the day for the Red Devils (6-3), while Jared Drayton, Tanner Marlow and Chandler Whalen each had two.

The Red Devils travel Tuesday to Anderson.

’Dogs, Pats split

After falling 5-3 to Jay County in Game 1 of a doubleheader, Centerville rebounded to beat the Patriots 6-3 in the second game.

Matt Stamper pitched a complete game, striking out eight Patriots, walking two and allowing four hits.

Andrew Walter had two hits, two RBIs and a double, while Justyn North also doubled in the victory.

Centerville travels Monday to Rushville.

Falcons top Indians

Winchester’s Joseph Webb struck out four and limited Union City to three hits over a complete game as the Falcons defeated the Indians 12-3 in TEC action Saturday.

Brandon Martin was 3-for-4 for the Falcons (2-3, 1-1), while Aaron Beatty and Jacob Gant each had two hits.

Gant, Beatty and Austin Myers all doubled for the Falcons, while Zack Bradbury doubled for Union City.

Winchester (2-3, 1-1) plays Monday vs. Delta.

Jenkins shines at Small School Invitational

Union’s Kaulen Jenkins won the 100 and 200 at the Randolph Southern Small School Invitational on Saturday.

Lincoln finished third (43), Union fourth (34), and Randolph Southern sixth (9). Eastern Hancock won with 140.5.

Rebels take second at Small School Invitational

Randolph Southern placed second at its Small School Invitational on Saturday. Eastern Hancock won, while Lincoln was fourth and Union was seventh.

Kassidy West won the long jump and 100 for Lincoln, while Tess Wise won the 1600 for Randolph Southern.

A team of Makenzie Phenis, Zoe Fisher, Wise and Elizabeth Decker won the 3200 for the Rebels, and Morgan Retter won the discus.
