THE WINNER: T.J. Sugg
THE BASICS
School: Har-Ber (Springdale, Ark.)
Grade: Junior
Height: 6-foot-1
Weight: 145 pounds
Athletic achievement: He raced to the Class 7A individual state title this past season with a time of 15:17.8, leading the Wildcats to a third-place finish as a team. Also the 2014 All-NWA Media Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year, Sugg was the fastest Arkansas competitor at the Foot Locker South Regional championships, crossing the line in 23rd with a time of 15:27. He also broke the tape at the Class 7A West regional meet in 15:32.7.
Academic excellence: Sugg has maintained a 3.6 GPA.
Exemplary character: An Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America and a member of the National Honor Society, he has volunteered locally on behalf of Family Legacy Missions as well as the Hooked on Fishing-Not on Drugs youth-education program in association with the Future Fisherman Foundation.
