North Webster superstar football player Devin White, currently being recruited by college powerhouses like LSU and Alabama, has reportedly been arrested for the second time in several weeks.
According to the Springhill Press, Cullen police confirmed the 17-year-old was arrested for misdemeanor charges of “careless operation of a motor vehicle and flight from an officer.”
Calls to the Cullen police department made by the Times on Thursday morning were not answered.
On Nov. 20, the morning of North Webster’s second-round playoff game against Amite, White and teammate Keuntra Gipson were arrested in Springhill and charged with misdemeanor carnal knowledge of a juvenile (a 14-year-old girl).
Springhill police chief Will Lynd told The Times the initial matter will go to district court in Minden.
At 6-foot-1 and 260 pounds, White is the No. 8 overall recruit in Louisiana by ESPN. He’s listed as the nation’s No. 99 overall recruit and the No. 3 “athlete.”
White has narrowed his college prospects to LSU, Arkansas, Alabama, Ole Miss and Florida State.
Following his first arrest, Jason Howell of Rivals didn’t believe there had been much push back in recruiting.
“It might impact him a little, but schools continue to heavily recruit him,” Howell told The Times.
