Editor’s note: Following are the two athletes nominated by their school for Gannett Central Wisconsin Media’s High School Sports Awards. The top male and female athletes of the year will be announced May 6, along with the coaches and teams of the year.
Parents: Todd and Lori Buntrock
Academic honors earned: I am currently the president of National Honor Society. I made the high honor roll all four years of high school. Junior Year attended Badger Girls State at UW Oshkosh, student of the month for the Kiwanis Club senior year.
Volunteer Work: Every Wednesday I teach Religious education to fourth graders. I cantor at my parish at least twice a month. I work at my church’s picnics and pancake breakfasts.
Inspiration: Mr. Jim Getzloff was my inspiration. He has been my pitching coach since I was nine years old. He is there for me in times of success and struggle. I know he will always be there for me with his encouragement.
Junior letters, honors: Volleyball, Softball (state berth), scholar athlete.
Senior letters, honors: Volleyball (honorable mention, captain), scholar athlete.

Academic honors earned: Honor Roll freshman and sophomore year.
Volunteer Work: Usher/Greeter at my church, volunteered at middle school basketball tournaments, volunteered for middle school retreat, and worked at the neighborhood table.
Advice to an athlete: Put all of your effort into everything you do because it will pay off.
Inspiration: My inspiration during my high school sports career was to do the best I could and give one hundred percent all of the time. To strive to get better with every game and practice.
