Editor’s note: Following are the two athletes nominated by their school for Gannett Central Wisconsin Media’s High School Sports Awards. The top male and female athletes of the year will be announced May 6, along with the coaches and teams of the year.

Advice to an athlete: Do that extra rep, put in the extra time, think positively, and be your teams’ hardest worker. Don’t forget to have fun and enjoy your time; it really does go by in the blink of an eye. When you reach and break your goals, then set higher ones. Don’t settle, make yourself be the best you possibly can.
Inspiration: My parents have been my inspiration not just in my sports career but my whole life. They support me no matter what and give me so many opportunities that have helped shape me into the person I am. I played every game for them because without them I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish what I have.
College plans: I plan on attending UW-Madison to major in nursing. I would like to be a NICU nurse, and eventually become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.

Academic honors earned: Top 10 percent of class (3/48) -Academic letter (9-12) -National Honor Society (10-12)
Favorite sports memory: My favorite high school sports memory happened during my Level 3 football playoff game. We were ahead by two touchdowns late in the fourth quarter and there was heavy snowfall. Our 290-pound DT intercepted a screen pass and sealed the win for us. Our crowd and sideline went crazy.
College plans: I will be attending St. Norbert College and will be majoring in Biology/Pre-med. I will also be playing Safety for the St. Norbert football team. I am aspiring to become a Physician Assistant.
Junior letters, honors: Football (first team all-conference — DB, honorable mention all-conference Quarterback, captain), basketball (second team all-conference, captain), baseball (second team all-conference, Marawood Scholar Athlete, Academic All District, Academic All State).
