Kauffman kept his perfect season alive, winning the 126-pound championship at the Division 3 Auburndale regional on Saturday, defeating Dylan Altman 20-3 in the championship match. Kauffman (43-0) followed that up with a pair of pinfall victories as the Tigers advanced to the team sectional final before falling to Coleman, 35-31.
Leggon had a hat trick to lead the Tigers to a 4-3 victory over Altoona in a regional semifinal matchup on Tuesday. Marshfield’s captain and leading scorer, Leggon has 23 goals and 10 assists in 23 games. The Tigers take on top-seeded Eau Claire Memorial tonight.
Richardson averaged 16.3 points per game as Auburndale (17-4) rebounded from its loss to Marathon with three victories. Richardson had 23 points in a 59-14 victory over Northland Lutheran on Thursday. She followed that up with eight points in Saturday’s 47-36 victory over Iola-Scandinavia. Richardson capped it off with 18 points and seven rebounds in a 62-38 victory over Athens on Tuesday.
Young helped Loyal clinch its first Cloverbelt Conference East Division championship on Monday, scoring 14 points in a 59-37 victory over Owen-Withee. With the win, the Greyhounds improved to 19-2 overall and a perfect 16-0 in the conference. Young also scored six points in a 70-38 win over Greenwood on Friday.
