After a two week hiatus, the Blue Water Junior Golf Tour came back to crown eight winners at Gowanie Golf Club.
For the second time this season Port Huron’s Nick Bailey led the entire field with a plus-5 score of 76. That score won him his second 14-15 boys title of the season, and Macomb Township’s Matthew Bayer snagged second with his 78.
Leading the ladies on the course was St. Clair’s Kara Likins and her score of 89. That was good to win the girls 14-and-up A flight title, edging Fort Gratiot’s Megan Randolph by three strokes.
In the boys 16-and-up division, Macomb’s Nick Rutkowski took first with a 94. Marysville’s Carson Mills was in second with his 96.
Port Huron’s Madeline Blum earned her first win of the season in the girls 14-and-up B flight, swinging to a 100. St. Clair’s Maia Cataldo was in second with a 103.
In the boys 14-15 nine hole flight, Port Huron’s Robert Smith won his second title of the summer with his 47. Just behind him was Clyde’s Andrew Fealko and his 49.
Sandusky’s Christian Long continues his summer of success with his third straight 12-13 boys title, this time shooting a 42. Shelby Township’s Paul Didio came in second with a 46.
In the 12-13 girls flight, Brandi Kautz came in first and notched her third top three finish of the season by carding a 58. In second place was Macomb’s Allison Gottshall and her 62.
In the youngest division, the 10-11 boys, Port Huron’s Sam Hillebrandt won his first trophy of the summer with a 45. Port Huron’s Jake Blum and Clinton Township’s Grant James Libstaff tied for second with a pair of 51s.
The golfers won’t have to wait long for the next BWJGT tournament as they’ll play on Friday at Port Huron Golf Club.
