Ridge 4, Watchung Hills 1: Junior righty Mike Rica went the distance, striking out 11, walking two, and allowing an earned run on four hits to lead Ridge (7-3-1). Rica helped his own cause, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI at the plate. Bobby Moskow hit a solo home run for the Red Devils as well. Chris Roth went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles for Watchung Hills (8-6). Tyler Lombardo gave up four earned runs on six hits in the loss.
Gill St. Bernards 6, Montclair Kimberley 4: Luke Beveridge went 2-for-3 with two RBI and Rob Berman (3-1) went five innings for the win. The Knights are 10-5.
Middlesex 6, North Plainfield 1: Joe DiNizio pitched a one-hitter and struck out 15 for the Blue Jays (5-11). He allowed one run and three walks., Stewart Lester went 2-for-3 with two RBI. The Jays scored four of their six runs in the sixth inning. North Plainfield is 6-5.
Montgomery 7, Warren Hills 1: The Cougars (6-6) won their sixth straight, winning behind Matt Ryan’s three-run homer.
Manville 10, Somerset Tech 8: Carl Imhoff hit a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning that plated the two go-ahead runs for Manville (2-7), which trailed by a run entering the inning. Somerset Tech led 6-1 before Manville scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth to jump ahead to a 7-6 lead. Kyle Puza gave up three earned runs on eight hits, as he went the distance in the win. The teams combined for 12 errors.
Hopatcong 2, Delaware Valley 1: Travis Scharffenberger went 2-for-3 with a run scored for Delaware Valley. Ian Kulik went five innings, taking the loss, as he allowed two runs, one of which was earned, on four hits while striking out four and walking three.
