Oct. 7 _ Jesuit left-handed pitcher Jacob Palisch committed to Stanford for the Class of 2017. Palisch, a quarterback who recently led Jesuit to a victory to end Skyline’s 48-game district winning streak, was an integral part of Jesuit’s trip to the UIL state tournament last season. Palisch and Texas’ 2016 commit Kyle Muller are expected to make Jesuit one of the state’s top programs again this season … Denton shortstop Oscar Gonzales became the first North Texas baseball commit for the Class of 2019 with a pledge to Texas … Other notable recent commitments include Arlington Martin ’17 outfielder Tristen Lutz to Texas and Prosper ’17 shortstop Easton Murrell to Arkansas for and Forney left-handed pitcher Jonathan Childress committing to Texas A&M for the Class of 2018 along with Forney teammate Mason Englert.

Aug. 3 _ Argyle Liberty sophomore Dawson Barr has committed to TCU. The hard-throwing right-hander has hit 89 MPH as a freshman and will sign with the Class of 2018 … Arizona State has picked up commitments from senior first baseman Cody Sturgeon of Naaman Forest and 6-5 lefty Jordan Roberts of Euless Trinity.

July 22 _ Hebron OF/P Zach DeLoach commits to Texas A&M for the Class of 2017. One of North Texas’ top hitters (.473 BA) and pitchers (7-2) as a sophomore. Hebron senior Michael Neustifter has committed to Oklahoma State.

July 18: Newly named Baylor baseball coach Steve Rodriguez went straight to North Texas to star his recruiting Class of 2016. Keller outfielder Hunter Seay committed to Baylor. Rodriguez is a former Pepperdine coach and player with strong recruiting ties to Southern California but working to keep Baylor’s long-standing recruiting ties to Dallas.

Seay is part of a stalwart Keller program which also had C/ATH Brad Lindsly recently commit to Oklahoma. Keller catcher Shea Langeliers previously committed to Baylor. Keller is coming off a season in which is reached the Class 6A Region I final against Arlington Martin. Keller ousted defending state champ Flower Mound from the state playoffs.

With baseball summer baseball in high gear, several top players have committed. Coppell shortstop Jacob Nesbit and Rockwall-Heath catcher Canaan Smith committed to College World Series qualifier Arkansas for the baseball recruiting Class of 2017. Coppell rising junior left-handed pitcher John Kodros previously committed to LSU.
