MIAMI – The Belen Jesuit Wolverines will take flight during the 2016 season, heading to Ireland to play in a high school football game against an unannounced potential opponent from the United States or Mexico.

The game, scheduled take place the day prior to the Aer Lingus College Football Classic between Georgia Tech and Boston College, will grant the Wolverines a chance to make Florida state and national history.

“High school football is an extension of the classroom and there is no better way for our student athletes to learn and experience another culture,” Stuart said. “Playing, sightseeing, doing a community service project and mixing with the wonderful people of Ireland will create memories for our students that will last a lifetime.”

Opponents for the teams participating in the event will be announced in the coming weeks as more teams are finalized. Several other teams from Florida have been mentioned as possible participants in the event, but have not been confirmed at this time.
